Sunday's lesson: what happens when you just offer what you have
This Sunday we'll discuss President Susan H. Porter's April 2025 general conference talk, 'Here Am I, Send Me.' She tells the story of a boy who offered five loaves and two fishes to Jesus, not enough to feed anyone, by his own math, and Jesus fed thousands. President Porter invites every one of us, at any age, to say that same phrase to Heavenly Father in prayer and then watch what He does with what we bring. Before Sunday, think of a moment, recent or long ago, when you said yes to a small prompting and something larger happened than you expected.

President Porter describes a testimony meeting where a Primary boy walked to the stand and asked the congregation: 'Would everyone who loves Jesus please raise your hands?' She says every person looked up, smiled, and raised their hands. All thoughts turned to the Savior. One child. One question. A room full of people suddenly focused on Christ. President Porter calls it a sacred moment of joy, and she holds it up as a picture of what it looks like when someone simply offers what they have.

President Porter teaches that we are not responsible for solving every problem around us, only for offering what we actually have. She points to the boy with five loaves and two fishes: he didn't know how the math would work, but he gave what he had and Jesus did the rest. The same pattern is available to us. When we pray, 'Here am I, send me,' Heavenly Father can take something small and simple and make it great.
President Porter: 'You do not need to worry about fixing all the problems around you. Heavenly Father can provide miracles when you simply offer what you have.'

President Porter draws on her father's playful answer about dessert, 'I want some now and later!', to make a serious point: choosing to walk with Christ and bring others closer to Him produces blessings in this life and prepares us for joy forever. The Atonement makes that possible.

President Porter promises that as you strive to bring yourself and others closer to Jesus, you will receive blessings now and blessings forever, growing into the person you are meant to be, with greater happiness, comfort, and opportunity.
Your witness: Share what it has meant to you personally to offer what you have to the Lord, even when it felt small, and what you believe He can do with that offering.
