Something to think about before Sunday's class
President Oaks closed general conference by inviting us to study, ponder, and act in faith on the messages we received. He quoted a promise from the Lord: 'Unto him that receiveth I will give more.' Before Sunday, pick one thing from conference that stood out to you, a talk, a phrase, a feeling. Come ready to share what it was and what you did (or want to do) with it. Ponder: What does it mean to truly 'receive' a message from the Lord, rather than just hear it?

Story hook
President Oaks began his closing remarks by naming the two hymns that bookended the session: 'Tell Me the Stories of Jesus' and 'Redeemer of Israel.' He called them a suitable summary of two full days of conference. Think about that, he could have reviewed doctrines or statistics, but he pointed to hymns. Why do you think he did that? What does that choice say about how we're meant to carry conference home with us?

Receiving opens the door to receiving more
President Oaks taught that the Lord's teachings don't stop when conference ends, they continue through personal revelation as we act on what we've already been given. The Lord has promised that those who receive will be given more. That promise is conditional: it follows treasuring up and acting in faith, not just listening.
President Oaks quoted the Lord's promise: 'Unto him that receiveth I will give more', and tied it directly to how we engage with conference messages.

Christ is the way, in this world and the next
President Oaks testified plainly that Jesus Christ is the way to peace now and eternal life later, and that He ministers to each of us one by one, in charity and love. That kind of ministering is something we're invited to reflect back to the people around us.

Your witness: Share what it has meant to you personally when you acted on something from a prophet's teaching and felt the Lord meet you there, then close with your witness of Jesus Christ as the center of that process.
