This Sunday we're discussing Elder Chi Hong Wong's recent general conference talk, 'Remember.' He noticed five places in the Book of Mormon where God doubles the word 'remember', the way a parent repeats something important. Elder Wong teaches that Jesus Christ is the foundation of the entire plan of salvation, and that keeping His commandments and building on that foundation are what protect us when life's storms hit. Before Sunday, ponder: What is one thing about Jesus Christ or His gospel that you are grateful you haven't forgotten?

About ten years ago, Elder Wong was pondering a question: if God wanted to remind His children of something vital, how would He do it? Where would we find those reminders? A clear impression came to him: look in the Book of Mormon. When he did, he found five places, five, where God repeats the word 'remember' twice in a row, like a loving parent who needs you to really hear it.

Elder Wong teaches that Jesus Christ is not just one part of God's plan, He is the foundation of the whole thing. Every promise of redemption, every hope of resurrection, and every assurance of eternal life flows through Him. When we build our lives on that foundation, the storms that come cannot drag us down.
Elder Wong, quoting Helaman 5:12: 'It is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ … that ye must build your foundation; … it shall have no power over you to drag you down.'

This week, open the Book of Mormon to one of the five 'remember' passages Elder Wong cites, even just one, and read it slowly. Ask yourself what God is trying to make sure you don't forget.
Elder Wong, drawing directly from the Book of Mormon, teaches that those who build their foundation on Christ will face storms but will not fall, the winds and hail 'shall have no power over you to drag you down.'
