Object Lesson
Before class, draw a large red scribble on a white piece of cloth or a white piece of paper with a red washable marker. Hold it up where everyone can see it.
Ask: "What do you notice about this cloth? Could anything make it white again?"
Let two or three children answer. Then say: "There is a prophet in the Old Testament named Isaiah. He was talking about something just like this. He said God can take something stained -- not a cloth, but a heart -- and make it white as snow. Let's find out what he meant."
